Lara Knutson is an industrial designer who creates uniquely shimmering home and fashion accessories that are extremely eye-catching. Made out of a shimmering material that is essentially a reflective glass fabric, she was put on the map thanks to her two standout collections 'Soft Chemistry' vessels and 'Nebula' jewelry.
Based in New York City, Lara Knutson got her first break five years ago when The Future Perfect owner David Alhadeff gave the then recent Pratt Institute graduate a carte blanche exhibit. Lara Knutson's work is now being sold at the MoMA Design Store, Albright Knox, Umbra's Concept Store and Carnegie Museum.
In 2012, Lara Knutson will be part of a traveling exhibition called 'Craft Futures: 40 under 40,' starting in the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
