Objekt Architecten Designs the Lamat House in Wichelen

Belgian design studio Objekt Architecten has just renovated a home nestled in the rural area of Wichlen dubbed the Lamat house. The team has integrated a modern interior comprised of exposed concrete paired with the warmer red steelwork inside of the traditional red-brick exterior. There was a focus on opening up the home to overlook the beautiful countryside.
Architect Steven de Bolle shares the design process with Dezeen, noting "The original state of the house didn't allow its habitants to enjoy the views. Our concept revolves around this view, within the existing boundaries of the house and the limits of the available budget. The most radical changes are found inside the house. Nothing else was touched on the outside, except the creation of new contrasting window openings at the rear."
