The La Matita Rossa series is an interesting one. As though in line with all of the book art and installation that once took over galleries and websites just a couple years ago, it takes a tool that is not necessarily used as much anymore and turned into a sort of performance art. Made up of different takes on the ordinary pencil sharpener -- 21 to be exact -- people will be interested in interacting with their stationery in different ways.
A project put on by Design and Art of the Free University of Bolzano's faculty members Claudio Larcher, Eugenia Morpurgo and Alvise Mattozzi, the La Matita Rossa series ranges from playful to avant-garde while some are fairly similar to traditional designs.
