Heritage-Inspired Vancouver Bakeries

Vancouver's Kouign Cafe Specializes in Tasty Cookies and More

Vancouver's Kouign Cafe was founded by pastry chef Andrew Han and is located in the heart of the city's Chinatown neighborhood, where the Han grew up.

Specializing in artisan baked goods, with many featuring White Rabbit candy as a key ingredient, the bakery is inspired by chef Andrew Han's heritage and childhood. "I spent these early stages of life learning what family means, community, friendship, connection within a small confined area of Vancouver. As a tiny little kid, I honestly thought the entire universe was just like Chinatown," adding that he considers the neighborhood home.

He also goes on to describe that his desserts are an extension of his mother's love of flavors and baking, something he wishes to share with a broader audience of local foodies and tourists alike.
