Pasta sauces are often seen as simple, traditional products but Francesco Rinaldi is helping to bring pasta sauce into a new century with its Francesco Rinaldi AR App, which creates an interactive packaging design.
With the app, consumers are able to speak directly to Mrs. Rinaldi herself, who is pictured on the jar. Those with iOS or Android devices are now able to point their mobile device at products like Francesco Rinaldi Classic, Organic or Alfredo to have Mrs. Rinaldi launch into one of three different stories, complete with an Italian accent.
Mrs. Rinaldi, who has been pictured on the pasta sauce labels for almost 40 years, has become an easily identifiable symbol for the brand—and thanks to augmented reality, consumers now have the chance to engage directly with the character.
