Instacart Introduces New 'Instacart Health' Project

Instacart is introducing a plethora of new features as part of its new health-focused project, dubbed Instacart Health, which is broadly aimed at increasing access to healthier meals. The new initiative is set to launch before an anticipated initial public offering later this year.

Three objectives are highlighted by the Instacart Health project: making healthy grocery shopping easier, enhancing nutrition security, and supporting the idea of food as medicine.

“Study after study has shown that some of America’s biggest health problems are actually food problems,” said CEO of Instacar, Fidji Simo. “We think of ourselves as a company that is at the center of people’s relationship with food; that, for us, is centered on people’s relationship with their health.”
