Cricker's Insect Cookies Put a Sustainable Spin on a Classic Treat

Crickers are being introduced on Kickstarter as "the cookie that can save the world," as the revamped chocolate chip cookie treats are actually made with cricket and chocolate protein. The nutritious cookies help to make the idea of eating insects more palatable to consumers in parts of the world who are unfamiliar with the sustainable source of protein.

These cookies are made with cricket, corn and chocolate and are said to provide "twice as much protein than conventional cookies and have 50% less sugar." As part of the crowdfunding campaign, Entofoods, the creators of Crickers are aiming to raise money to support the packaging, production and branding of the product.

The Entofoods team previously launched Totolines as its first product, a salty snack made with corn, chili and Mexican insects.
