Immersive Public Art Installations

Duo, a Playful Park Installation, Invites Viewer Participation

Immersive public art installations present an excellent way to animate space and to engage the public. One interesting example of an immersive art installation is DUO. This digital installation seeks to bring the spectator at the heart of the artistic action. The piece is funded through the Montreal Cultural Development and the Montreal Reflex Agreement, concluded between the City of Montreal and the Government of Quebec. Two screens are positioned on both sides of a walkway in a park. Both screens depict two dancers and the spectator is invited to occupy the heart of the distance that separates them.

DUO was one of the Top 100 finalists for the prestigious CODAaward. Public voting for the People's Choice Award is open from June 20th to June 30th.
