HW Studio has designed a distinguished home located in the forests of Morelia, Mexico. The project is called "The Hill in Front of the Glen" and features a unique vaulted concrete living room partially dug into the ground.
Due to its low-to-the-ground placement, the home has a unique affinity with the natural landscape. The vaulted concrete living room opens up to the outdoor vegetation and offers a unique indoor-outdoor feel. Meanwhile, the entranceway to the home consists of a sunken hallway flanked by concrete walls. Concrete equally clads the interior walls, and the curved vaulted ceilings are felt in every room and create a unique atmosphere.
The homeowners wanted to preserve the rough and natural atmosphere of residing in the mountains, and the architects did so in their material choice of raw and unpolished finishes.
