Hummustir's Hummus in a Cup Preserves Freshness with Ready-to-Mix Pouches

Most dips and spreads are sold in the same kind of containers, but Hummustir is redefining hummus in a cup with a new type of shelf-stable packaging.

Hummustir's kit-inspired packaging system takes the form of a paper cup that contains multiple foil packets filled with single ready-to-eat servings of the product. Alongside these pouches are also dry seasonings and a sealed wooden spoon. Hummustir makes its trio of hummus products in Classic, Mediterranean and Village flavors with a short list of instructions on the back of the containers to spell out exactly how to prepare the products on the go.

This packaging innovation is particularly noteworthy because it means that consumers have access to hummus that is natural and preservative-free, yet does not need to be refrigerated.
