Trying to ignore the tempting snacks inside a hotel minibar is difficult, especially when you as a traveler realize that they have been assigned astronomical prices to prey on a moment of weakness when you have a craving for candy, chocolate or chips.

As the Virgin brand has is now trying its hand at the hospitality business, it is showing how different things can be. The food and beverage manager of the Virgin Hotels in Chicago reportedly took to the streets in order to find out the prices of snacks and drinks and immediately made changes to the prices listed on in-suite minibars. With minibar snacks at street prices, guests at this hotel can expect to pay only about a few dollars for candy bars and snacks.

Now that sales generated from hotel minibars have been steadily plummeting across the globe, this could be a fair solution to appease hungry travelers.
