Kit Kat recently expanded upon its regionally inspired product line with a new variety that takes inspiration from popular Japanese hot spring snacks.
The Kit Kat Mini Onsen Manju flavor takes cues from the flavor of the red bean paste that is commonly sold at hot springs in the region. The steamed bun-inspired chocolate bars even emulate the look of the buns with a light-colored chocolate exterior and stripes of red bean powder between wafers.
In keeping with the theme of these snacks, the new Kit Kat treats are exclusively available at select hot springs locations across Japan. Additionally, the pouch packaging for the confection references the 100 Views of Cats products that have become popular souvenirs.
