Hostels have a reputation for being the go-to choice for backpackers seeking budget-friendly accommodations at the cost of settling for small rooms and a lack of security—but with its newest #MeetTheWorld hostel campaign, Hostelworld is out to challenge these beliefs held by many travelers.
The new campaign brands Hostelworld as diva-approved, as it stars Mariah Carey herself as the unlikely face of Hostelworld. The video ad tells a story of how the legendary diva was accidentally booked into a hostel and remains thoroughly unimpressed until she sees some of the luxurious comforts that can be offered to her during her stay.
Hostelworld's campaign also goes on to highlight a number of "diva-proof hotels" around the world, including some with high-end amenities like private suites and rooftop pools.
