I absolutely adore the mixture of traditional and modern architecture taking place in Japan at the moment. This beautiful heightened home in Hiroshima, Japan by Tetsuya Nakazono at naf architect & design is a prime example of this dichotomy.
Stunningly modern, this single-family residence is a three-story wood and steel structure that allows for a large amount of natural light to flood in. The heightened home has unique circular cut-outs in the floor of the top tier of the house that house a spiral staircase and ladder for descent and ascension.
