'House' is a multi-purpose Japanese building in Hayashisaki Matsue Beach. Designed by local studio Akio Isshiki Architects, the ultra-modern and elegant space serves the function of a home and a public restaurant. Like many contemporary designs, the renovation aimed to blend traditional and modern elements. This decision effectively retains the charm of the 50-year-old building that Akio Isshiki Architects had to work with.
The multi-purpose Japanese building has a warm atmosphere thanks to the choice of colors and textures. Flow within the interior of the structure has been improved as Akio Isshiki Architects emphasized an open-plan layout. The dining space exudes elegance with its dark tiles and wooden furnishings. A path of circular stones leads to the private residential area of the house which utilizes a warm-toned palette.
