Fiela Feather Chandelier

The Fiela Feather Chandelier, which is featured in the first two photos, is made with real ostrich feather shades and is the work of South African designer Haldane Martin.

The chandelier was presented at the Design Indaba Expo in Cape Town, South Africa last month.

The last two pictures are of two free-standing Fiela Feather Lamps made with the same medium.

Haldane Martin explains, "Fiela Feather Lights are named after Dalene Mathews book 'Fiela se Kind'. This heart warming South African story is set in Oudtshoorn, the same ostrich farming district where the sort white feathers that form the spherical diffuser are sourced from."
