Plaza-Surrounding Housing Complexes

Tariq Khayyat Design Partners Designs the H Residence

Architecture studio Tariq Khayyat Design Partners creates the H Residence which is defined by its vertical louvres. It is a housing complex in Dubai right in the Jumeirah District with 37 residential units. There is also a range of restaurants and bars on the ground floor with a public plaza in the middle. The H Residence has three floors and a basement level with a curved structure that sections into two wings. It connects by a lobby on the ground floor and has another connection on the upper floor by a long bridge.

Tariq Khayyat, founder of the studio tells Dezeen, "The design aims to create a shift in the way mixed-use projects have been developed in the region where there is a complete separation between the end users and the surrounding community. The H Residence provides a seamless relation between the outdoor urban spaces and the surrounding program, where the central plaza is positioned in a way to welcome the public and for end users to enjoy a vibrant urban space."
