This frozen lamp by Maxim Velcovsky may seem like a delicate, frosty light fixture, but looks can be deceiving. The frozen lamp is actually not made of ice, rather it is made of glass that mimics the state of water turning into ice.
Ice is one of the most beautiful natural materials one can find. Each piece is unique, and Maxim Velcovsky uses that to his advantage in this piece. Debuted at Milan Design Week, the piece contains aspects like bubbles, wrinkles and varied thickness to create a more natural icy look.
When looking at it, it's easy to forget that it's a lamp and not simply a piece of ice, but when the light shines through it, the illumination is natural beauty at its finest.
