A talking hamster takes over the father figure role in Sprint's new 'Framily Planning' commercial. The commercial is about Sprint's new family plan, which allows people to add non-family members to their plan as well.
To help better understand what family planning means, Sprint has a family with a son who has a Southern accent, a French-speaking daughter and a hamster as a father. A rep from the ad agency explains that it also, "positions Sprint as a cultural leader that recognizes the changing social dynamics of American families today."
The commercial is comical, and takes on a very pleasant approach to family or 'Framily Planning.' It is an interesting take on trying to discuss the topic of non-family members, but still creating a family feel, even with children with accents.
