Financial Literacy Metaverses

e.l.f.'s Fortune Island Empowers & Educates Gen Z on Roblox

In partnership with financial technology company and banking app Chime, e.l.f. launched Fortune Island: Earn Learn Flex on Roblox. As such, e.l.f. is the first beauty brand to launch a financial literacy game on Roblox, and the immersive experience aims to equip a new generation with essential money management skills.

“Gen Z would rather talk about literally anything than money or debt—so we flipped the script,” said Patrick O’Keefe, Chief Integrated Marketing Officer, e.l.f. Beauty. “We created ‘Fortune Island: Earn. Learn. Flex.’ to equip our community with the skills and swagger to be their best e.l.f. selves."

On Fortune Island, the social story game has gamers go through unique scenarios inspired by real life. As Roblox players progress through the story based on educational milestones for different financial life stages, they'll learn about saving, budgeting, and investing.
