JRPG-like turn-based combat, rogue-inspired movement and tabletop inspired maps make up the core of 'For the King' and work beautifully to create a frantic and intense multi-genre mashup. Combining tabletop strategy, stealth mechanics and turn-based combat, this indie game from IronOak games tasks players with traversing a fantasy world and defending it from oncoming chaos. For the King utilizes a party mechanic for most of its gameplay and can be enjoyed as a single player experience, local co-op or online co-op.
Strategy is a key element in this game, and players will be tasked with not only fighting foes but also keeping their party tightly-knit. Team-building mechanics become an important element as the game progresses as players defeat more aggressive enemies and take on dungeons filled with enemies and traps. For the King is currently available on PC via Steam, with no plans for future console ports.
