Wraparound LCD Displays

This Flexible LCD Display Can Be Wrapped Around Your Wrist

A UK firm by the name of FlexEnable has invented a highly innovative flexible LCD display that is capable of being wrapped right around your wrist. The sheet of material that forms the screen measures no more than a hundredth of an inch thick, meaning it isn't heavy and doesn't feel heavy on your wrist.

The FlexEnable display makes use of special plastic transistors to achieve its flexible state, creating so-called 'organic liquid crystal displays. These screens are impressively capable of attaining the same levels of clarity as conventional LCD screens with the added advantages of being more flexible and consuming the same power.

This flexible LCD technology could soon be seen in a variety of products, as FlexEnable is actively working with hardware partners. While there are many disadvantages with wrap-around screens, the lightweight nature of FlexEnable's product means it has a lot of potential.
