Take traditional Japanese samurai paintings, mash them together with some of pop culture’s most beloved characters and you’ll get the fantastic artwork that comes from the very talented Ferris Plock.
Ferris Plock is an artist who has mashed the world of traditional Japanese art with some familiar characters who have been given a huge makeover. Samurai paintings often depict the warrior, his mask, his sword and his clothing. Plock stays true to the tradition of this art form with the only difference being that the masks have now taken the form of famous faces such as Snoopy, Popeye and Hello Kitty.
Ferris Plock’s paintings are on display at the exhibition “Just For One Day” at Shooting Gallery in San Francisco.
