London-based artist Felicity Powell has a god-like touch that helps her create impressive miniature figures using wax. Powell uses the back of a black, circular mirror and white and red wax to design these intriguing shapes and patterns with her finger.

The pieces are mesmerizing as the malleable material gives them texture and volume. Powell created a video that shows her making the art work; it’s impressive to see how she manipulates the wax as the figures seem to magically appear. Additionally, she manages to create depth by playing with the background and the density of each layer.

Entitled Charmed Life, the intimate and beautiful series by Felicity Powell is exhibited at the Wellcome Collection’s Miracles & Charms exhibition in London until February 26, 2012.
