Glass-Paneled House Extensions

Steven Vandenborre Added a Glazed Annex to a Family Home in Ghent

Belgian-based studio Steven Vandenborre focused on modernity and natural lighting in the design of this family home in Ghent. Approached by the owners to create a "cozy extra living quarters to relax in whenever they're in the country," the architectural studio embarked on the project, titled 'Pied-a-Terre,' and created a beautiful glass-paneled structure that extends into the backyard. The new addition to the family home embraces majestic views of the garden and allows for an optimum amount of natural light to illuminate the interior of the residence.

To achieve this, the architects from Steven Vandenborre used a European ash frame and numerous panels of glazing, creating not only an inviting residence but also one that basks in the principles of modernity.
