In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, renowned artist and activist Ai Weiwei is partnering up with eBay to launch a fundraising project that involves face mask coverings.
Simply dubbed 'MASK,' the art project will boast face mask coverings that have been "hand-printed with iconic images of the artist's work." All proceeds from the sale will be donated to COVID-19 humanitarian and human rights emergency efforts led by not-for-profit organizations such as the Human Rights Watch, Refugees International, and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
The creative MASK project is running from May 28th until June 27th. Artworks will be available for $50 USD per work, $300 USD for a series of four works, and $1,500 USD for a collection of twenty. The masks are not intended for medical use.
