Jared Zhang Launches a Wearable Sculpture in No Minimum Online Auction

Designer and conceptual artist Jared Zhang is set to release a new wearable sculpture titled Mass in an exclusive no minimum online auction this spring. Crafted from silver, copper, and rhodium, Mass symbolizes the struggle of modern love and spirituality in 2023. Zhang's artwork aims to capture the complexities of contemporary society, where individualism has supplanted institutions and churches, and brands have emerged as new disciples.

Mass represents the way people today seek a sense of belonging and competition through their association with brands and consumption, rather than pursuing moral and philosophical knowledge. The sculpture features an engraving that poses the question: "What do we want? Love or 5,012 likes and 63 comments."

The first set of 10 Mass sculptures will be released in an artist edition of 100. Level 1 of the auction goes live at 12:00 PM EST on Saturday, April 1, 2023, with subsequent releases planned for the following month.
