It would be really hard not to spot these bold one-eye labels on the shop shelf. Each olive oil bottle is made from the typical dark green glass, making the contrast with the white pigment quite marked. Two bottles positioned next to each other make for an familiar pair of peepers, complete with long eyelashes, massive irises and a hint of lively shine.
With this sweet cyclops imagery comes the word "Hi" printed in a large and obvious size. The ocular graphic and the greeting work together to engage the consumer, reinforced by the line, "I want to follow you." Due to the abundance of olive oil products on the market, designers are constantly exploring ways to catch the eye of the customer, and this visual strategy by Matadog Design is certainly direct and successful.
