Created as the perfect way to drink espresso on a hot day, the drink is crafted by using two shots of Black Cat espresso, vanilla bean syrup, Pellegrino soda and a splash of half and half. This makes a beverage that is a balance between being sweet, creamy and refreshing in order to augment perceptions of what's possible with espresso.
The Persephone Bakery Espresso Spritzer was explained by the co-owner of he bakery, Ali Cohane, when they said, "A bubbly coffee drink is the most refreshing thing we could imagine having on these hot summer days. It's much lighter than a latte, and we put less vanilla bean syrup than a latte so it stays refreshing, not cloying."
