Elevated train lines might be close to becoming a reality. This is good news especially for the people who have already begun to rethink the way they travel and are looking for alternative modes of transportation when possible. This is motivated by a need to be more sustainable and to cut as much of one's carbon footprint as possible.
The AeroSlider is the name of the elevated train line concept and it is created by Jens Martin Skibsted. The vehicle looks like a train, however, its method of operation is quite different. Instead of a track, the AeroSlider runs through magnetic loops.
Although far from operational deployment, the team behind the AeroSlider "has actually put a lot of thought into the feasibility of the route, which passes from Africa to Europe to Asia."
