Zero-Emissions School Buses

The 'eLion' Electric School Bus Eliminates Diesel Emissions

Aiming to eliminate the diesel emissions that are created by existing school buses, the 'eLion' is an electric school bus that offers a cleaner way to get kids to and from school. The 'eLion' is the design work of Quebec-based Lion Bus and has been created in partnership with California in order to meet cap-and-trade needs.

The 'eLion' electric school bus can be outfitted with between three and five battery packs that will provide up to 100km of range. The battery packs can be charged in about 3.9-hours to 6.5-hours, depending on the number of batteries that are present. A fast charger is purported to be in the works in order to slash the amount of time needed to get the bus back up and running.
