The Volskwagen ID Buzz is an electric microbus that was originally unveiled several years ago. Since then, there has been little information on the status of this retro-themed electric microbus. Now, in 2022, Volskwagen has greenlit the ID Buzz concept bus for production, which is slated to arrive in 2023.
The frame of the ID Buzz is an homage to the popular style of the Volkswagen bus sold throughout the 50s. The batteries of the ID Buzz will be mounted under the floor of the vehicle, which allows for more freedom of frame customization from Volskwagen. While this microbus concept will be available for consumer purchase, it will also be used for a self-driving car service that Volkswagen is developing.
