Educational Not-for-Profit Organizations

Akasa is a Wellbeing-Centric Los Angeles-Based Collective

Akasa is an educational not-for-profit organization which is dedicated to supporting low-income youth and families. The female-led community harnesses the empowering qualities of cooking, gardening, and mindful awareness. Akasa extends itself to the students and families through partnerships with public schools in select neighborhoods across Los Angeles. The workshop and programs, offered by the educational not-for-profit organization, gives individuals the opportunity to grow, harvest and cook food, all the while examining the location's food system and making "informed choices about their overall health + wellness."

Akasa operates through donations and the community is also graced with a few fund-raising events. On August 18th, the educational not-for-profit organization is hosting its second Annual Back to School Benefit with 100% of the proceeds going toward funding the upcoming school year.
