Animal Nuisance Food Trucks

This Dutch Food Truck Makes Eating Pests Environmentally Friendly

You might have heard of people eating pests before, perhaps in an adventurous attempt to try local cuisine in Thailand or Ecuador. This Dutch food truck is offering similar dishes, not in an effort to introduce a Fear Factor-like element to dining, but in order to reduce food waste. The Unwanted Animal Kitchen (or Keuken van het Ongewenstdier) serves menu items like The Pigeon Plate and geese croquettes out of animals that had to be shot at the close by Schiphol Airport for security purposes.

Similar to roadkill re-purposing fashion, the food truck is making eating bugs and environmental initiative. As global food waste reaches alarming levels, many other establishments in the food industry are taking measures into their own hands as well.
