Feline-Graphic Limited Chairs

Vitra and Herman Miller Unveil an Eames Fiberglass Chair

Vitra works in collaboration with Herman Miller to launch a limited-edition Eames Fiberglass Chair that is detailed with a sleeping cat which has been painted by hand celebrating artist Saul Steinberg sleeping on the molded front seat. There will only be 500 pieces that are made, making this one of the most limited Eames collectibles.

The curved seat has an organic design that cradles the back and adds support. The cartoon honors Steinberg, following the story of when he visited the Eames office in Venice, California. He was inspired to paint his imaginary characters across floors, walls, and furniture, with a stronger interest in the newly created Shell chairs. Every single chair is numbered by hand and sealed with a protective lacquer.
