Someone with a good sense of humor is more likely to own the Duck-Footed Mirror, given that the object's main function is to afford a view of every fine detail of one's appearance. Even though it is in fact a tabletop vanity mirror, it has been designed to incorporate webbed feet, a feature that people jokingly associate with a freakish physique and overall ugliness.
Perhaps the coat of silver paint makes the three-toed tootsies look a little more attractive, but this modification is as useless as putting thick makeup onto an exceptionally wrinkled face. It quickly becomes clear that the aesthetic statement David Dear sought to establish is in fact a witticism, and the Kikkerland Duck-Footed Mirror an amusing accessory for the posh powder room.
