Architectural Midcentury Bike Racks

The Draken Bicycle Stand is Inspired by 1950s Architecture

The Draken bicycle stand is a playful structure designed by the Sweden-based landscape architecture firm 02landskap for the Nola design studio as a functional solution for placement in private or public exterior spaces.

The bike stand is characterized by its profile that doesn't look like a conventional rack for bicycles and instead draws its aesthetic inspiration from the Olof Palme's plats in Gothenburg. This gives the fixture an inherently architecturally accurate profile that includes clean lines, simple structuring and a functional form.

The Draken bicycle stand is durable constructed to accommodate both large and small bicycles alike, and has been designed alongside a matching plant guard. The fixtures identify an increasing focus being paid to exterior cityscape solutions as a simple way to enhance the aesthetic appear of the urban landscape.
