Four walls and a roof do not define the DMAA Festival Hall. This unique project rather takes an abstract geometrical form, speaking a very different architectural language to that which much of Western society has become accustomed.
Perched in the hills of Tyrol, Austria, this project sits adjacent to the existing Passionsspielhaus that intriguingly takes a very contemporary shape of its own. To complement it in true modern fashion, the new structure expresses itself through smooth slate colored tiles and vast shadows that juxtapose the bright white of its older neighbor.
The tectonic stratification of the Delugan Meissl Associated Architects (DMAA) Festival Hall does not end with the edifice's exterior. Once you enter the extensive interior, you discover great open spaces with slanted ceilings and zigzagging walls.
