TruEats Modern Baking Co. is a new venture from a father-and-son team that uses ingredients like chickpeas, almonds and mung beans to create diabetic-friendly baking mixes. The startup is introducing itself to the world with products like a pancake and waffle mix, a brownie mix and a chocolate muffin and cake mix, which are plant-based, gluten-free and free from added sugars.

The better-for-you bakery mixes were inspired by health challenges and informed by the power of pulses and grains, which are staples of Ayurveda. While the startup was initially focused on developing plant-based meat alternatives, it pivoted due to the pandemic in 2020, knowing that many people would be staying home and find themselves open to baking more frequently.
