This Diabetes Campaign Urges the Public to Share a #BloodSugarSelfie

For World Diabetes Day, this diabetes campaign challenged people to pose with a blood glucose monitor and share a selfie with the #BloodSugarSelfie tag.

As a result of receiving a record-breaking 517 #BloodSugarSelfies within just 24 hours of the campaign launch on World Diabetes Day in November, this successful health campaign is being recognized as a winner at the 2015 E-Health Insider Awards. In total, more than 80,000 people participated over the course of the campaign.

While the teams at Diabetes.co.uk will undoubtedly be excited to accept this award, what's even more valuable is the awareness that's been raised for diabetes prevention in the future. As some campaign participants claim, realizing that they have high blood sugar levels was life-saving. Due to the momentous response, it's likely that a similar campaign will be run again.
