Defiance-Inspired Disease Awareness Campaigns

ARSLA Debuts the 'A Finger for Hope' Campaiggn

ARSLA, a French organization dedicated to combating Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, has launched a campaign titled 'A Finger for Hope.' The initiative features individuals with the disease raising their middle finger as an act of defiance.

The 'A Finger for Hope' campaign centers on a documentary-style film that presents these efforts in real time, without editing, to viscerally communicate the physical erosion caused by Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, for short). The cinematography is underscored by Can't Slow Down, an original musical score composed by influential French hip-hop producer Pone, who has lived with ALS for a decade. The artist created the soundtrack using eye-tracking technology.

ARSLA's 'A Finger for Hope' initiative has generated significant public discussion and is linked to fundraising efforts to raise €20 million for advancing precision medicine and next-generation therapies. The awareness campaign launched alongside the opening of the Institut Charcot, a new specialized ALS research institute in Europe.
