Japanese developer Hit-Point struck gold in the mobile game market in 2014 with the release of its incredibly addictive and adorable game Neko Atsume. Following up this viral hit was no easy task, but the Japanese developer have easily handled the task with the release of its new game Tabikaeru: Journey Frog. This latest release ditches the cat-collecting task of Neko Atsume and instead focuses the player on setting things up for an adventuring frog who will occasionally visit the player with gifts and photos from his adventure. Tabikaeru is currently available on Android and iOS, but only when searched under its Japanese name.
Several reviewers and video game journalists have described the game as incredibly addicting, whimsical and inviting. Developer Hit-Point has struck an innovative chord with gamers as its games have become viral hits that have seen very little change from the very different Japanese market. The developer has explained it has no intention of changing its games to fit a more Western style and are more focused on creating content for the Japanese market.
