A Customized Advertisement Picks Out Drinks in Shinagawa Station

In Tokyo's Shinagawa train station, there is a 47-inch touchscreen billboard that will recognize you. This customized advertisement uses a mounted camera to determine a person's age and gender and will recommend beverages to fit the consumer's profile.

If this all seems a little creepy and 'Minority Report'-ish, then take solace in the fact that this customized advertisement is not the norm, yet. Building "smart" billboards such as this that cater specifically to interests and tastes on a person-to-person basis is still a long way off, unless you are Google.
