Penetron Poland supplied PENETRON ADMIX for the Goose Bay residential project in Gąski, a seaside development about 40 meters from the Baltic Sea. The complex comprises 58 apartments ranging from 28 to 70 square meters, including six penthouses and a rooftop swimming pool. The project team selected the admixture to address water ingress and chloride exposure in the coastal setting.
PENETRON ADMIX is an integral crystalline waterproofing admixture that reacts with moisture and cement hydration byproducts to form insoluble crystals within concrete. It was incorporated into the concrete mix for the foundation slab, underground parking garage retaining walls and swimming pool shell. Penetron says the process reduces permeability and protects against moisture intrusion and hydrostatic pressure.
For residents and owners, the system is intended to support long-term moisture resistance and reduce maintenance requirements. The project reflects growing demand for waterproofing integrated directly into structural materials, particularly in coastal construction. For Penetron, the installation demonstrates its technology in a high-exposure residential development and supports broader adoption among Polish developers.

What's Driving This Trend
- Crystalline Waterproofing
- Concrete admixtures that self-seal capillaries through crystal formation are reshaping how builders manage water ingress in high-exposure structures.
- Coastal Durability Design
- Rising demand for resilient seaside buildings is expanding the market for materials engineered to withstand chlorides, hydrostatic pressure and moisture intrusion.
- Integrated Structural Protection
- Embedding protective performance directly into concrete creates new value for developers seeking lower-maintenance residential assets.
Who This Affects Most
- Construction Materials
- Advanced admixture suppliers are gaining relevance as concrete evolves from a basic structural medium into a performance-enhancing building system.
- Residential Real Estate
- Waterproofed foundations, garages and amenity spaces can differentiate coastal developments by supporting long-term asset reliability.
- Infrastructure Engineering
- Marine-adjacent construction expertise is becoming more transferable as engineers apply durability-focused concrete technologies across exposed built environments.
