Canopy Creeping Sculptures

'Creature' by Frank Havermans Casts Shadowy Effects From the Rooftop

'Creature' by Frank Havermans is an outdoor installation that's suspended from a crane atop a skyscraper in Hong Kong. Netherlands-based artist Havermans uses sheets of metal along with other materials to create a sculpture the whole city is a part of.

This creepy crawler sculpture is made with a four-foot crane as its base and connected to an odd shaped piece that dangles over the streets. With lighting effects, this geometric shape casts strange shadows on the street below. This project is part of Hong Kong's Shenzen Bi-city biennale of urbanism and architecture. It takes into consideration the concept of Hong Kong's architecture and the balance between adequate housing and new urbanism for citizens. Check out 'Creature' by Frank Havermans to get a glimpse of what this creepy sculpture offers.
