Structurally, the Contour Lamp expresses the essence of minimalism; however, it evokes intrigue in the eyes of observers with its crooked composition. Made of a single slender tube of steel, the light fixture extends as a continuous line from its cable.
Jacob Nitz was able to produce a desk lamp with a stand, a shaft and a head, all with the same length of metal. To form its base, the designer bent the material into a flat U shape, flexing it upwards at its tip and and the start of its stem. A slight kink in its midsection gives the piece a quirky sculptural appeal. The Contour Lamp is complete with a horizontal segment that integrates a pivotal armature of LED lights.
