Toronto-based artist Christine Kim does an amazing job piecing together her intersecting collage portraits. Kim starts off with mannequin style cut-out drawings and proceeds to piece together the elegant artwork in order to turn them into the gorgeous end product.
Kim was spoken to recently for the wonderfully inspiring Making Art project, which conducts interviews with outstanding artists in Toronto. The entire film project is conducted by talented filmmaker Jesse Brass and will feature another nine different interviews with ingenious artists. The collage portraits have an avant-garde feel to them that evokes a fashion style. Kim creates a contrasting effect for the collages by having the majority of it being completely monochromatic but then adding pale color tones to accentuate the images.
