Cold War Martini Cocktails

James Bay Distillers Receives an Award for Its Gin-Based Cocktail

James Bay Distillers has received a gold medal at the Barleycorn Awards competition in Dallas, Texas, for its pre-mixed Berlin Station Covert Cold War martini cocktail. The beverage is a combination of the distillery's own citrus-forward Summer Gin No. 5 and its Inner Harbour Scotch Whisky. The spirits were accented with lemon zest. At the competition, the judges described the cocktail as "a bold spirit with a lovely bouquet on the nose and a kick of peppery spice and lemon on the palate. Unique and tasty!"

The Berlin Station Covert Cold War martini cocktail is heavily themed around espionage, with a specific narrative linking it to a former CIA station chief in Berlin during the Cold War. James Bay Distillers suggests the cocktail can be served traditionally, chilled with ice, or lengthened into a tall drink by mixing it with Fevertree's Sparkling Sicilian Lemonade.
