Code-Teaching Kids' Books

This Coding Book Uses Rhymes and Color to Teach HTML Concepts to Kids

'The Wonderful World of Creatures & Code' is a brightly colored children's coding book that introduces kids to the basic concepts of computer language.

The coding book is the work of Mnemonic Productions, a Portland-based design company. The women behind Mnemonic attended a baby shower for a coder friend, and while trying to purchase a gift, discovered that there were no coding books available for little potential computer programmers. They decided to create their own.

The coding book teaches the building blocks of HTML and other coding languages through story, rhyme and imaginative illustrations. It's a timely project at a crucial turning point in education: governments are rapidly realizing the necessity of computer skills and introducing coding curriculum into the earliest levels of education. This creature-inspired coding book will be an excellent tool in this new movement.
