Dizzying Circular Street Art

This Street Painting is Different Depending on Where You are Standing

Felice Varini has created a site-specific piece of circular street art that changes depending on your perspective.

From afar, the entire piece creates a perfectly round, orange shape that looks like it is on one canvas. As you advance through the walkway however, you begin to notice that the paintings are actually on different parts of the walls and ceilings, creating the perception of one unified piece.

Varini's work acts as an optical illusion as the image suddenly skews once you begin to walk, and realize that in fact the orange color is broken up into bits and pieces. Only from the beginning of the walkway do you realize that the piece creates circular street art. Each segment of paint however is intricately chosen to create such a stunning and puzzling image.
